Child labour which affects education and health is still widespread in Pakistan. The Pakistan Statistical Service Survey on child labour in March 2003 reveals that 2,474,545 children out of 6,361,111 were estimated to have engaged in some economic activity. This means that 2 in every 5 children had engaged in some economic activity. 66.7% and 100% were females between the ages 5-17 in Upper East Region and the Upper West Region, respectively. 68.1% and 95.0% of the Children in the 4 provinces, respectively, reported that work affected their schooling.
